What's With All The Resale Rights? If you haven't been into Internet marketing for very long, you may have seen a lot of talk about resale rights. Now, if only it ended there, things would be very simple. However, when you have terms like resale rights, master resale rights and private label rights, and enough variations to choke a horse, it's easy enough to get confused and not know which end is up. Well, in this article, we're going to give you some simple explanations of what all these resale rights are. Hopefully, by the time you're done reading this, you'll at least have a decent idea of what the main difference is between the various rights you can get. The simplest of all resale rights is just that, simple resale rights. That is where you have a package or product and the creator of the product gives you permission to sell the product for him, taking a commission for yourself. The product's price is set by the creator. You can't sell it for anything other than the price that he states. You also can't make any changes to the product in any manner shape or form. You can't put your name on it. Basically, you are just an affiliate of the product. In most cases, you're not even allowed to create your own sales pitch page. You simply send visitors to the main site with your affiliate link and get credit for any sales that come through that link. Those are simple resale rights. Next we have master resale rights, which are a lot more flexible than just simple resale rights. With master resale rights, you can put the product up with your own sales page. You can sell it for any price that you like, though in some cases the owner will give you a lower limit to how much you can sell it for. This keeps people from selling a $97 product for $5. However, you can't make any changes to the product or put your name on it. In some cases, the owner will allow you to pass on master resale rights to others. This will be clearly marked in your agreement. Finally, we have private label rights, which are the most flexible of all rights packages. With private label rights, you can basically do anything you want with the package unless restrictions are specifically stated. With a private label rights package, you can actually change the content of the package itself. Creators will give you the original source code in order to be able to do this. Essentially, you can create a whole new package from this. You can put your name on it, you can sell it for anything you want, you can even give it away if you so desire. You can package it with other private label rights packages. If the creator does have any restrictions at all, he will state these upon sale of the package. The above explanations are simplified and in all honesty, not 100% accurate all the time because of liberties that creators take with the rights that they issue with their products.
