The Death Of The Adsense Empire These days there seems to be the death of something coming out just about every other day. One day it's ebooks, the next day it's gurus, and the day after that it's the death of the death of articles. Well, this article may very well be dead before it ever hits your hot little PC, but the information in it is far from it. In reality, this article will give you some cold hard truths to what you're dealing with and fighting against when trying to build your own Adsense empire. Things are not quite as easy as they were in the old days. This article will explain why. First of all, back in the old days, you didn't need an Adsense empire to make a decent amount of money with Google Adsense. You could make a nice income from just a few web sites. A friend of mine had just one site and was making $100 a month. That's not too bad for just one site. Imagine if you had just 10 sites performing like that back in the good old days. That's $1,000 a month just from having a site sitting out there gathering traffic. Today, it's a whole different story. For one thing, people are a lot smarter than they were back in the good old days. Back then, most people didn't realize that these were even paid ads. They'd click on them not really knowing what they were other than they had some catchy three line ad that appealed to them because it was targeting the same kind of page that they were visiting. Today, most people know what these blocks are and avoid them like the plague, simply because they know they are making other people money. Believe it or not, it's true. That's why your clicks have gone down dramatically. Another problem that you have today that you didn't have back then is the split costs between search and content sites. Back in the good old days, you had just one price for all ads. So regardless of where those ads appeared, you made the same amount of money. Today, advertisers can pick reduced costs for ads that appear on content sites. So keywords that you used to get paid $1 for are now paying you 20 cents, if that. So the revenue potential has gone down quite a bit. Finally, the flood of Adsense template sites really has killed the industry. Because of all the garbage out there, Google has really had to clamp down on cheaters. Click fraud is rampant and it doesn't take much to get your account shut down anymore. Actually, if you start to make money with Adsense, you really have to be careful that they don't start investigating where those clicks are coming from, even if they are legit. Sure, maybe if you have the resources to throw 1000 sites on the Internet you can make good money. A friend of mine makes $1.2 million a year with Adsense, so it can be done.
